The Cruiser Tank A13 Mk.III was introduced in 1938, and was based upon the Christie suspension design. The Mk.IV had applique armour fitted around the turret, and an improved mantlet was designed. These types served with 1st Armoured Division in France, and went on to serve in the Western Desert until 1941.

The Morris CS9 Light Armoured Car was based upon the Morris CS9 lorry chassis, and saw service with the 12th lancers in France as part of the BEF's reconnaissance force. It also saw service in the Western Desert.

Introduced into service in 1938, The Matilda I fulfilled the role of an Infantry support tank. It was found to be almost impervious to German artillery and anti tank fire, but was handicapped by the machine gun armed turret, when facing German armour. Its most famous action was the British counter offensive at Arras. 1941.
